Marty Kelly

Born in the UK in 1955, Marty Kelly left school at the age of 16 to pursue a career in industry as a fitter machinist. He then went on to work on the shop floor of a factory as a machinist grinding ceramics. In his late 20’s he attended a special camp as a volunteer from Industry to assist leaders with groups of “at risk young men”. It was after this experience Marty decided to pursue a career in the field of personal development. As an outdoor pursuits instructor/tutor Marty worked for various outdoor-orientated programs and organisations, all promoting personal development. These programs catered for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. In his late 30’s Marty returned to college and gained qualifications in Youth & Community Work and continued with further studies to obtain a degree in psychology. While obtaining his degree, he continued his career in outdoor work and also worked as a senior rope access supervisor. This work included coordinating high-profile work tasks on oil & gas installations in the North Sea.

In the last year of his studies Marty was diagnosed with Dyslexia. At the age of 44 Marty was relieved to know why he had struggled at school, and gained a clear insight about how his learning difficulties had affected his life. In 1999 he successfully applied for a job with the Victorian Education Department in Australia. Marty moved to Australia and spent the next 7 years managing and developing a highly successful “Youth at Risk” program. During this time Marty qualified as a General Psychologist and started a private practice and consultancy in 2003. Marty’s business is current based in  Northeast Victoria and he practices in Mansfield Shepparton Wangaratta and Benalla. Marty has over 25 years experience working with individuals and families. He has a common-sense approach to issues and draws from wide and diverse life experience to provide practical strategies and life skills to help cope with everyday living.
